The demonstration of the effectiveness of the vibration protection technique proposed within the Progetto MONALISA entails shake table tests, to be performed in the Seismic Hall of the ENEA laboratories at Casaccia, Rome. Here a natural-scale three-dimensional replica of the “Sarcophagus of the Spouses” has arrived. The reproduction is made of high-density polystyrene, is completed with a cementitious mortar and is finished with a realistic colour. The replica was made by the company MAP LLC, based in Ragusa, and by the artist Simone Campo.
